Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta and AC Milan’s Paolo Scaroni will testify at a newly-created Special Anti-Mafia Committee.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Over the past couple of months, there has been an ongoing scandal involving Inter and AC Milan’s ultras groups.
At the start of October, there was a slew of arrests. These were of prominent members of Nerazzurri ultras group the Curva Nord, and Rossoneri counterpart the Curva Sud.
These arrests concerned alleged illegal activities by the ultras, mainly around matchday activities.
There are also allegations of mafia ties between Inter and Milan ultras and organized crime members.
The arrests have also kicked off a wider investigation into alleged illegal activities by Inter and Milan ultras.
Subsequently, this investigation has taken place among a number of authorities.
Therefore, this investigation has touched on ties between Inter and Milan coaching, playing, and executive staff and the clubs’ ultras.
Among other things, Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu could reportedly face a suspension for ties with Nord leader Marco Ferdico.
And now, the Italian Federal Government has created a new Special Anti-Mafia Committee.
This is similar to the committee that was created in 2017 to investigate Juventus ultras.
Tuttosport report that Inter President Beppe Marotta and AC Milan President Paolo Scaroni will both testify before this newly-created committee.
