Simone Inzaghi reaffirms Inter Milan’s goal of competing for every trophy this season, including the FIFA Club World Cup.
During his latest media appearance via FCInterNews, the 48-year-old discussed several hot topics.
Though he faced stiff competition from Gian Piero Gasperini, Simone Inzaghi won the flattering ‘Golden Bench’ award.
“It’s a source of pride, even more so in such a prestigious place like Coverciano, where it all began,” he said.
“It was three long years of courses, traveling back and forth from Rome.
“Being voted by my peers is gratifying, and it’s only right to share this recognition with the entire Inter family.
“I wish I could have had everyone here with me.”
While his tenure at the San Siro continues to impress, Thiago Motta flopped at Juventus this term.
Staring down the barrel of another trophyless campaign, the Turin giants sacked the ex-Bologna manager.
“It happened, and I’m sorry for him because I admire him as a coach and, above all, as a person,” Inzaghi commented.
” I believe he’ll return quickly because he’s truly a great manager.”

“Four reasons to vote for me again next year? We’ll see,” Inzaghi continued.
“We have three crucial months ahead to wrap up Serie A, the Champions League, and the Coppa Italia.
“Then comes the Club World Cup, where Inter wants to be a protagonist.
“Football is a sport where we aim to be competitive on all fronts.”
Finally, Inzaghi delivered a fitness update on Lautaro Martinez and Denzel Dumfries.
Both players have returned from international duty prematurely with injuries.
Therefore, Inter cannot count on them for Sunday’s Serie A match against Udinese.
“Every team deals with injuries, Inter included,” Inzaghi added.
“Now we have issues with Dumfries and Lautaro.
“The staff is already working hard to handle them in the best possible way.
“Lautaro’s recovery should be quicker, but there’s confidence in Dumfries’ return as well.
“We also have a few players who will be back after the break.”
