Inter Milan will be without Nicola Zalewski when they host Lazio at San Siro in the Coppa Italia quarter-final.
The 23-year-old joined the Nerazzurri on loan with an option to buy from Roma last January, so he was certainly eager to take on his parent club’s old rivals. However, the Nerazzurri released an official statement on their website, confirming the Pole’s injury.
Clinical and instrumental tests for Nicola Zalewski this morning at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano. The Polish midfielder has a muscle strain in the soleus of his right leg. His condition will be reassessed in the coming days.
Therefore, Simone Inzaghi will have to rely on Federico Dimarco on the left flank once more, especially since Carlos Augusto remains out. Nevertheless, Sky Sport Italia (via FcInterNews) expects the Inter manager to make four or five changes to the starting lineup that beat Genoa last weekend.
Lautaro Martinez is expected to be rested, especially with a direct Scudetto clash against Napoli just around the corner. Marcus Thuram is still struggling physically, so Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic should lead the 3-5-2 formation.
Moreover, Yann Bisseck is tipped to reclaim his spot at the back, while Matteo Darmian is the favorite to replace Denzel Dumfries on the right. In the middle of the park, Piotr Zielinski is tipped to start, but it remains to be seen which midfielder he will replace between Nicolo Barella, Kristjan Asllani and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
