Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi finds himself strapped for options in multiple departments amid a growing injury crisis.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, injuries to several influential first-team members have caused Inzaghi a sizeable headache.
Indeed, Benjamin Pavard and Francesco Acerbi have been out for over two months.
While the former is on the verge of full recovery, the latter’s return date remains a mystery.
In the meantime, Stefan de Vrij sustained a minor fitness problem in the Supercoppa Italiana final.
The same goes for Yann Bisseck, but the German star should be ready for Inter’s trip to Venezia next weekend.
Pavard’s return to the fold is a massive fitness boost for Inter.
However, problems keep piling up higher up the pitch.
In addition to De Vrij, Hakan Calhanoglu suffered an injury against AC Milan in Riyadh.
But unlike the Dutchman, Calhanoglu will likely skip Sunday’s fixture at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.
Marcus Thuram’s recovery is a relief after the French forward had to sit out the Italian Super Cup final.
Therefore, he’ll probably regain his place in Inzaghi’s starting line-up at the expense of Mehdi Taremi.
But the situation at Giuseppe Meazza looks far from idyllic.
