Nicolo Barella is fired up for revenge ahead of Inter Milan’s Serie A showdown with Fiorentina this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908.

Midfielder Nicolo Barella was hardly blameless for Inter’s shock Serie A loss to Fiorentina on Thursday.

The 28-year-old did come on as a substitute in the second half. And he looked just as far off the pace as his teammates when he did come on.

However, Barella did not start that match.

The former Cagliari midfielder was the most notable absentee from the Nerazzurri starting eleven.

Nicolo Barella will certainly start this evening as Inter face Fiorentina for the second time in less than a week.

The Italian international’s absence certainly hurt the team on Thursday. Particularly as his replacement Davide Frattesi had a match to forget.

And Barella is feeling the pressure to lead the team’s response.

On Thursday, Inter really struggled in the midfield battle against a Fiorentina team that looked sharper and hungrier.

And it is exactly those sorts of qualities that Barella will aim to bring to the midfield this evening.
