Adrien Rabiot faced the anger of Paris Saint-Germain fans during the Le Classique against Olympique de Marseille on March 16. The French midfielder had previously played for PSG from 2012 to 2019.

After a stint with Juventus, Rabiot returned to Ligue 1 with Marseille, but his comeback hasn’t been well received by PSG supporters. During the match, they displayed a banner criticizing Rabiot and even attacking his mother. Despite the tension, PSG secured a 3-1 victory.

The banner read: “Loyalty for men, betrayal for ****** – like mother, like son.”

Veronique has since spoken to Radio France and revealed that she will be making a formal complaint about the behavior.

Barcelona defender Jules Kounde called for “firm” action against PSG fans who displayed an insulting banner during the match against Marseille targeted Rabiot and his mother.

The banner, clearly visible in the Auteuil end of Parc des Princes during Sunday’s Ligue 1 game, contained a derogatory message directed at the two Rabiot’s.

“I really feel for Adrien,” Kounde said (h/t Newsday). “There are limits and I think the limits were clearly breached. It’s not just the player who is targeted, but the person and his family. It’s unacceptable.

“I obviously hope that (the authorities ) will be firm about this because it’s unacceptable what happened. These kinds of chants and banners don’t have their place inside a stadium.”
