Minnesota United have started their 2nd transfer window under Eric Ramsey by swapping centerbacks on the roster. First, the club has transferred centerback Miguel Tapias to Liga MX side Chivas Guadalajara for a reported (Bogert) $1m transfer fee. Minnesota make a huge profit here on Tapias as they signed him for next to nothing a few windows ago. Tapias returns to Liga MX where he won an Apertura with Pachuca not too long ago. Tapias finishes his Minnesota career with 65 games played and 1 goal scored.
Ramsey and this front office fills the Tapias hole on their roster by selecting Kipp Keller in the MLS Re-Entry Draft. The 24 year old Keller is a former MLS Next Pro Champion with Austin FC II. Last season he played in 22 games for FC Cincinnati across all competitions. Keller has 40 career first team games played between Cincy, Austin FC, and Saint Louis FC. He also has additional appearances across MLS Next Pro for Cincinnati and Austin’s 2nd teams.
