The New England Revolution have transferred 19 year old winger Esmir Bajraktarevic to Dutch giants PSV for a reported deal that can be worth up to $6m plus a sell on %. The former U.S. youth international and current Bosnia international has made waves for himself in recent months after a successful 2024 for both club and country. Bajraktarevic made his Bosnia debut in September of 2024 in which he recorded his first international assist as well. For the Revs, he had 8 goal contributions last season across all competitions ending his career totals with New England at 5 goals and 4 assists in 57 games.

New England now gets to retain a ton of cash as part of this sale and are able to convert some of that profit into usable GAM. This is a team in recent seasons that has been able to find, produce, and transition on a ton of talent. I expect the funds from this deal to continue to help fuel a Caleb Porter roster revamp heading into his 2nd season. We’ve seen the addition of some foreign defenders, reports of potential attackers coming in, a new striker in Leo Campana, and the news of a new winger in Luis Diaz. Luis Diaz most recently played for Saprissa in Costa Rica but has prior MLS experience playing for Caleb Porter’s Columbus sides. The 26 year old Costa Rican international won two MLS Cups and a Campeones Cup with Columbus during his first MLS stint. I expect him to once again be a key depth winger piece for Porter.
