Leicester City's teenager Jeremy Monga made history by becoming the second-youngest player ever to appear in a Premier League match, at just 15 years and 271 days old.

The Foxes were already 3-0 down to Newcastle when Monga was brought on as a substitute in the 74th minute, marking his first experience in the Premier League.

The only player younger than Monga to feature in a Premier League game is Ethan Nwaneri, who was just 15 years and 181 days old when he played for Arsenal against Brentford on 18 September 2022.

Fans soon noticed that Monga was wearing a different shirt from the rest of his teammates, which was due to Premier League rules for players under 18.

Monga wasn’t allowed to wear the club's sponsor on his shirt for his debut, as players under 18 are banned from displaying certain sponsors, including those related to gambling.

This season, Leicester’s shirt sponsor is BC GAME, a community-focused online cryptocurrency gaming platform.
