Everton are preparing to host Tottenham Hotspur at home in the Premier League this weekend. The former side faced a defeat at the hands of Aston Villa in their previous game and will need to get it in the past to do well on Saturday.

The Toffees are 16th on the points table, which means they aren’t far away from the relegation zone. Hence, they will be under immense pressure to yield a positive result out of this fixture. However, it goes without saying that it won’t be easy.

Defence

Jordan Pickford did decent enough and he will have a big role to play if the Toffees want to clinch the game against Spurs. Ashley Young is starting as the right-back in the lineup without any doubts.

The centre-back duo of Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski remain intact. However, they will be on their toes to restrict the opponent’s threats. No doubt about the left-back position as Vitalii Mykolenko continues to provide his services from there.

Midfield

While Idrissa Gueye is deployed in the middle of the park yet again, Jack Harrison might be sacrificed to make way for Jesper Lindstrøm in the midfield unit.

Orel Mangala, who was used in the midfield in the previous game, will be seen operating on the right flank with Iliman Ndiaye taking charge of the other side of the pitch. Abdoulaye Doucoure provides the bridge between the midfield and the attacking line and will have Dominic Calvert-Lewin playing in front of him.

Dwight McNeil, Seamus Coleman, Tim Iroegbunam, Youssef Chermiti, and Armando Broja are confirmed absentees while James Garner marks his return.
