Journalist refutes Inter’s links with Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret | OneFootball

A journalist trashes news report suggesting Inter’s contact with Napoli’s goalkeeper.

Journalist Umberto Chiariello dumped a news article from La Gazzetta dello Sport, which reported about a potential complex situation surrounding the contract renewal of Alex Meret with Napoli.

The Neapolitan journalist claimed the report to be false through Napoli’s partner radio station, Radio CRC. He remarked (via TMW): “I repeat once again: fake news, this time from the Gazzetta. And I have written evidence from those directly involved this time too.”

Chiarello believes that this was an attempt from the North Italian clubs to jeopardise the calm environment inside Napoli since the start of the season. He asserted that such false narratives has become a regular occurrence ever since Antonio Conte has took his side to the top of the Serie A table.

Meret’s Napoli contract expires next summer and renewal talks have been underway for quite some time now. An agreement from both parties is yet to arrive but the Partenopei have no intention of letting him go.
