Luka Jovic was named in the starting line-up by Sergio Conceicao, but he was forced into a late alteration before the win over Venezia.

As Calciomercato.com recall, Jovic was all set for another start after his brace inspired a 3-0 win over Inter on Wednesday night. However, he suffered a physical problem during the warm-ups before the game.

The Serbian striker suffered lower back pain during the final sprints and therefore it was not possible for him to start the match from the 1st minute, but the player will still be on the bench, awaiting further tests and communications on the extent of the injury.

With Jovic not available, Conceicao changed the starting striker at the last second and he opted to go with Tammy Abraham. Santiago Gimenez came off the bench in the second half and scored a lovely lob to end his goal drought.

In addition, Alex Jimenez looked to be in some discomfort too during the second half and was brought off. Sergio Conceicao spoke about the pair in his post-match press conference.

“Jovic had a back problem. I spoke with Alex Jimenez, in the second half he dropped his concentration, he is young and has quality, at that moment he was tired, he has no physical problems,” he said (via MilanNews).
