Juventus turned down offers from some of Europe’s most prestigious clubs for the ‘invaluable’ Kenan Yildiz before he committed his long-term future to the Bianconeri with a new, long-term contract extension over the summer, reports claim.
According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United were one of several clubs to have an approach for Yildiz turned down over the summer.
Recent online reports claim that Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Fenerbahce also sounded out the possibility of a move for Yildiz before the summer transfer window closed, but were also turned away by the Bianconeri.
Premier League side Aston Villa were also mentioned by Corriere dello Sport as one of the clubs interested in snapping up a deal for the 19-year-old.
Yildiz is considered to be the future of the Juventus project under Thiago Motta. The club decided to treble his salary over the summer and also handed him the iconic no.10 shirt, formerly worn by his idol Alessandro Del Piero.
He is now earning a reported base salary of around €1m per season, not including bonuses, and is contracted to Juve until the summer of 2029.
Yildiz is so central to the Juventus project that the club have not even considered an asking price, as there is no chance that he will be sold in the near future, according to updates from TMW.
