Kvistgaarden we know about, Sidibe and Guirassy are new transfer links

Good to see some reported interest in new faces for next season. It’s vital that Celtic get any new arrivals in the door as quickly as possible this summer…

Mathias Kvistgaarden set to leave Brondby this summer

It’s been good to see some news of reported Celtic transfer targets surface in the SMSM these past twenty four hours. We all know about names such as Mathias Kvistgaarden of Brondby who remains very much on the club’s radar, and it’s good to see we are reportedly casting our net further as we aim to improve our squad.

Kalidou Sidibe and Herba Guirassy are new Celtic transfer rumours

Kalidou Sidibe of French Ligue 2 side Guingamp, and Nantes winger Herba Guirassy are two of the names we are apparently keeping tabs on as we look to get a head start in our summer transfer dealings.

Sidibe is a powerful midfielder who stands at a whooping 6ft 7in tall. He’s more of a ‘workhorse’ in the middle of the park and isn’t as skilful or creative as Reo Hatate, Arne Engles or Callum McGregor, but he has something that we currently lack, and that is a physical presence in the middle of the park. Someone to do the dirty work as to speak, but Sidibe is also comfortable on the ball and under pressure, so he ticks a lot of boxes.

Guirassy who is a skilful right sided winger is only 18 but highly rated at Nantes as his £8.4 million price tag would suggest. He’s already broken into the Ligue 1 sides first team making over 15 first team appearances scoring 2 goals, so he certainly has the talent and pedigree that goes within our transfer model.

Brendan Rodgers wants to improve the squad

Whether anything comes of this speculation is another thing, but it’s encouraging that there is signs we are looking ahead in a bid to bolster our squad for the challenges awaiting us next season.
