Paris Saint-Germain dipped into the Russian League to sign Matvei Safonov, and the club could be looking in that direction again to bolster its squad. Moreover, said target could be open to a switch when the summer window opens.

Luis Enrique is known for rotating his lineup and relying on squad depth to keep the team performing at its best, especially as the season reaches its midpoint. With that in mind, PSG may prioritize versatile players this summer.

In recent transfer windows, the club has shown interest in Eastern European talent, including Safonov and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Given that trend, could the Ligue 1 leaders have their sights set on another player from the region when the summer window opens?

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly preparing a €22.5 million bid for Eduard Spertsyan from Krasnodar and hope to finalize the deal before the summer.

Meanwhile, Leeds United are pushing to accelerate negotiations, while Juventus and PSG continue to monitor the situation. Spertsyan has featured in 25 matches for Krasnodar this season, recording six goals and three assists.

Speaking to the Russian outlet Championat after staying quiet during another transfer window filled with speculation, Spertsyan said he never discussed a move to Leeds United with his former Krasnodar coach, Daniel Farke.

However, he didn’t rule it out either.

“Why not?,” Spertsyan says when asked if he would consider a move to Leeds later down the line (h/t LeedsUnited.News). “They will most likely get into the Premier League, they are in first place.”

“Yes, I want to leave, but I can’t leave the club [in the winter]. For them to let me go in the winter, the offer must be very good, and the club must have a great desire to sign me. This winter, that’s exactly what didn’t happen.”
