Liverpool's Arne Slot and Mohamed Salah were respectively voted as the Premier League's Manager and Player of the Month for November.
The duo were at the epicentre of a stellar few weeks as the Merseyside giants strengthened their position at the summit of the Premier League table. Despite the postponement of the Merseyside derby last weekend, Liverpool remain four points clear of Chelsea with a game in hand. Arsenal are six points back in third while defending champions Manchester City are in a distant fourth, eight points adrift.
During Liverpool's three league fixtures in November - a trio of victories over Brighton, Aston Villa and Southampton - Salah scored an unrivalled four goals. Beyond the cold hard numbers, it is the context of these strikes which sets the Egyptian apart.
Liverpool fell behind to Brighton and Southampton last month before Salah rose to the occasion. The timeless 32-year-old nabbed a 72nd-minute winner against the Seagulls to secure a 2-1 victory before producing two goals in the final 25 minutes of an unexpectedly difficult visit to St Mary's. In between those south coast triumphs, Salah created Darwin Nunez's opener and scored the second goal in a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.
The forward's prolific feats are made all the more remarkable given the off-field turmoil which he seems to invite during each post-match interview. As he approaches the final six months of his Liverpool contract, Salah has made no secret of his desire to stay at Anfield.
The club only tabled their first extension offer earlier this month, barely three weeks before their perennial top scorer can begin discussing a free transfer with foreign clubs. Slot has been sucked into this psychodrama. However, much like his star player, the head coach has brushed off the scrutiny when it comes to a matchday.
While the former Feyenoord boss has been at pains to stress the quality of a largely unchanged squad which he inherited from Jurgen Klopp, Slot's in-game tweaks have been pivotal to Liverpool's continued success this season.
Despite overseeing 11 wins from 14 league matches, this is Slot's first Premier League Manager of the Month award. Salah, by comparison, has collected this particular honour on six occasions since joining Liverpool seven years ago. Only Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane (both with seven) have ever been voted Premier League Player of the Month more often in the award's three-decade-long history.
