Reds back on track as hectic schedule continues

Arne Slot’s side have recovered from their shock Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest in rather impressive fashion, coming from behind to beat AC Milan 3-1 in the Champions League before romping to a 3-0 League win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

It has been a positive week for the club and perhaps offers the truest reflection of the Slot era thus far. While there will be more battles to come, the team have proven they can respond to setbacks.

The Reds face another hectic run this week, too. On Wednesday, they host West Ham in the Carabao Cup before a trip to Wolves on Saturday.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Liverpool injuries.

Star goalkeeper Alisson picked up a muscle injury and was a doubt heading into the Bournemouth game.

The fact he was only a doubt, however, suggests the issue is not all too serious.

"He has a slight issue with one of his muscles and we wonder if this game tomorrow is coming too early or not,” said Slot last week.

Potential return date: September/October 2024

Harvey Elliott

Prior to the news regarding Alisson, Harvey Elliott was Liverpool’s only injury concern.

The midfielder sustained a fractured foot while away on international duty with the England U21s and is expected to miss around a month of action.

“Harvey is of course a big disappointment for him but not only for him, also for us because OK, he didn’t play that much in the first three games but he played a lot in pre-season and he showed himself really well so, of course, if he had stayed fit he would have had a lot of playing time in the upcoming fixtures,” said the Liverpool boss earlier this month.

Potential return date: October 2024
