Liverpool could be set for a massive rebuilding in the summer transfer window, and bolstering the forward department is a top priority.

The Reds are likely to sell Darwin Nunez in the summer transfer window, with Saudi Pro League clubs showing keen interest in him. He was linked with a move away from Anfield in January, but Liverpool didn’t sanction his exit.

Likewise, Diogo Jota has cut a frustrating figure in recent months, and the Portuguese forward could also be offloaded.

With every passing day, it feels like Mohamed Salah will leave the club on a free transfer.

Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards will have a massive task on their hands in the summer. Liverpool need to fill the void with a top-quality striker, and Newcastle United’s golden boy Alexander Isak could be in demand in the summer.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool and Arsenal could be in the race to sign Isak, who has scored 23 goals in all competitions, including the one that helped the Magpies win the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Liverpool are also there for Alexander Isak, already made some contact with people close to the player. For Liverpool, he is one of the names they are considering in that position.”

Newcastle fans love Isak and the player has shown no desire to leave St James’ Park.

Eddie Howe has recently hailed him as a “sensational” player, and he would be a great signing for any Premier League side, including Liverpool.

Earlier this month, David Ornstein, claimed that Newcastle have not put any price tag on Isak, but they would be willing to listen to offers at around £150 million.

The Atheltic journalist further added that Liverpool would only consider making a move if Isak is genuinely available.

Newcastle want to build a team around the 25-year-old striker, and Liverpool (or any other Premier League club) could be forced to look for options elsewhere.
