“Lots of moving pieces” – Matt Law’s intriguing post explains transfer plans at Chelsea

Chelsea reporter for The Telegraph Matt Law put out a post on X last night that will intrigue Chelsea fans ahead of a busy few days of potential business.

They have left everything so late on in the window and only confirmed their first done deal of the window yesterday, 27 days into it. That is really quite mad when you think that they still need to sign a new spine to this team to really improve it and get it challenging at the very top again. Remember, this is a team that has won just one game in the last seven in the Premier League and are in danger of really slipping away from the top four race and getting Champions League football.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea’s outgoings held back in order to do player trade deals to sign players!

But fear not, we are still chasing Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, who is a good player but is not a priority position or player that we should be going for this month. Sigh.

Even still, Law believes it will be busy at Chelsea this week with plenty of moving pieces, so maybe there might be some late drama and maybe Chelsea might actually still address a couple areas that need addressing. Probably not, but maybe. We can hope.

Plenty of moving pieces incoming then apparently.

‘Lots of moving pieces around Chelsea (mostly in terms of outgoings) in final week of window. Villa like Disasi and Felix but would probably need to sell someone to move for Felix. In terms of incomings, Chelsea still looking at attackers (wing or 9) for now or summer.’

Absolute madness. Chelsea need a 9 right now, not in the summer. A winger can wait, but a new 9 needs to arrive now. I doubt it will now though with everything being left this late.
