Manchester United's injury crisis has eased with the returns of Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro and Christian Eriksen to Ruben Amorim's squad.

United's preparations for last week's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur were rocked by several late injuries, leaving Amorim forced to name a bench made up almost entirely of teenagers yet to make their senior debuts.

Among those to be ruled out late on was Ugarte, while Yoro and Eriksen's absences were only revealed when United's youthful team sheet emerged. Thankfully, Amorim revealed that the trio will are all set to return to the matchday squad to face Everton.

Amorim provided some particularly positive news on Eriksen, noting that his absence last week was simply a "misunderstanding" related to his heart condition. The Dane is "healthy" and "ready to play at a high level for many years" according to his boss.

Ugarte will likely replace Casemiro in United's midfield, which is still missing Kobbie Mainoo, Toby Collyer and Mason Mount.

Further back, Yoro's return boosts a defensive line that is already without Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw. Those defenders are all on the sidelines alongside forward Amad Diallo, who will miss the remainder of United's season with an ankle injury.

United trail Everton in the Premier League table by a single point and have lost 12 league games compared to the Toffees' nine. After another week free of European commitments Amorim was confident that the squad's fit and healthy players are hinting at an uptick in form.

"They are improving," Amorim said on Friday, "creating relationships, even the sound of the training is different, but we have to use that in the game and we have to take that step. I feel in training we are bonding and understanding the way we want to play, but then in a game, we struggle a lot."
