Manchester United were left frustrated after a stalemate against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Man United dominated the early proceedings with Dean Henderson coming to Palace’s rescue several times.

Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes both came agonisingly close, striking the post before half-time.

Crystal Palace struggled to escape their own half, appearing a step behind their opponents throughout the game.

Andre Onana showed great reflexes and athleticism when the hosts tested his resolve.

Erik ten Hag brought Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund in the second half. However, the duo failed to add any threat.

The Red Devils looked less potent in the final third in the final 20 minutes which allowed Palace to sneak a point.

Let’s get into the player ratings.

Player Ratings

Andre Onana – 9/10

Onana was more of a spectator in the first half but pulled off a marvellous double save to deny Nketiah and Sarr.

Noussair Mazraoui – 6/10

More support in the attack from the right-back would have been ideal. He showed great positional awareness to deal with any threat from his flank.

Matthijs de Ligt – 7/10

De Ligt could have doubled his goal tally for United but failed to convert his free header from a corner.

He put in a solid performance, effectively neutralising the in-form striker Mateta.

Lisandro Martinez – 5/10

He was defensively solid until receiving a booking for a two-footed challenge. He slowed the tempo of the game with his passing in the final 20 minutes of the game.

Diogo Dalot – 7/10

Even though he started as a left-back, Dalot mainly played as a central midfielder which helped United suffocate Palace before the break.

Christian Eriksen – 7/10

It was a fine evening for him to start as United dominated the ball possession. He misplaced only seven on his 58 passes and played three key passes.

Kobbie Mainoo – 6/10

Mainoo distributed the ball nicely and did his defensive work too.

Bruno Fernandes – 5/10

An off night for the United captain where he failed to add his magic. He tried his Hollywood passes, but most didn’t turn out well.

He also missed a great chance to break the deadlock in the second half after a quick interchange with Zirkzee.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6/10

A rare start this season and he repaid the faith by getting behind Palace’s defence numerous times. He pulled off a fine save from Henderson before hitting the post.

Garnacho should have found the net with one of his chances.

Amad Diallo – 5/10

An average day for the 22-year-old where he failed to replicate the creativity he had shown in the previous four league games.

Joshua Zirkzee – 7/10

Another standout performance from the Dutch international. He delivered a clever through ball that set up an early chance for Garnacho.

His hold-up play and swift one-twos with his teammates were highly impressive. United fell flat after his substitution.

Substitutes

Marcus Rashford – 5/10

Rashford came on in the 61st minute hoping to add end product to his side that were already on the front foot.

However, he failed to create any chance or threaten Palace’s defence.

Manuel Ugarte – 6/10

The midfielder got crucial minutes under his belt.

Rasmus Hojlund – 6/10

It was his first appearance of the season but without any spark.
