Premier League champions Manchester City have reportedly submitted a five-year contract offer to Eintract Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Etihad Stadium bosses are keen to refresh and revitalise the options available to Pep Guardiola in preparation for the final two years of the Catalan’s contract with the club, hoping to give the coach chance to build a new version of a hugely successful squad.

The ongoing campaign has illustrated a number of glaring holes in Guardiola’s squad roster, whilst a long list of injury and fitness problems have certainly not aided the club’s attempts at winning silverware come the end of the season.

Among the positions that are expected to come under the microscope in either the winter or summer transfer markets are the centre-back and central midfield positions in particular, with the latter largely emerging through Rodri’s long-term injury absence.

However, the club are seemingly open to the idea of strengthening their forward ranks, and having failed to replace Julian Alvarez following his transfer to Atletico Madrid last summer, there is certainly space for a new name to come into the attacking line-up.

Among the options to have emerged as a primary target for Manchester City is Eintracht Frankfurt’s hugely successful and versatile forward, Omar Marmoush – who is simultaneously attracting watchful eyes from across the European game.

But now, according to the information of Sky Sports’ Sacha Tavolieri, Marmoush only wants a move to Manchester City, in a summary of a message given by the player during a recent meeting with Etihad Stadium bosses and his representatives.

It is claimed that while Arsenal had wanted to make contact ‘in the most concrete way possible’, the player has his heart set on City’s style of play, in a stance that will also come as a blow to Liverpool – who view the 25-year-old as a potential successor to Mohamed Salah.

In a staggering development on the situation, the report claims that Manchester City have already lodged a contractual offer of a five-year deal to Marmoush, in preparation for the 2025/26 season with that proposal beginning on July 1st.

The Premier League champions will also have to appease the demands and valuation of Eintracht Frankfurt on the Egyptian star, with the report suggesting that Omar Marmoush will not leave the Bundesliga side for anything less than €60 million.

Marmoush’s output in front of goal this season places him amongst the very best attacking talents across Europe’s big-five leagues, inspiring Frankfurt to a current place of third in the Bundesliga table.

Across his 24 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign, Marmoush has managed to record a sensational tally of 18 goals and 12 assists, with his Bundesliga record in particular standing at 13 goals and eight assists in just 15 outings.

Any big-money, blockbuster move for the Egyptian international would represent a huge success for Frankfurt, who managed to sign the player ahead of the 2023/24 season on a free transfer from VfL Wolfsburg.
