Carlton Palmer has revealed that he believes the absence of Moore will be a huge loss for the Blades

Kieffer Moore suffered a big injury blow during Tuesday night's 2-1 victory at Bristol City, with Sheffield United concerned about his availability ahead of the Steel City derby this weekend.

Moore was brought off the bench 58 minutes in, but had to be substituted just 11 minutes later for eventual goalscorer Ryan One.

The Welshman, who has been on solid form for the Blades, headed straight down the tunnel after receiving treatment on the pitch.

Blades boss Chris Wilder, said after the game that the striker's injury wasn't "looking great" and it could see Moore out of the squad for Sunday's clash against bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

It could turn out to be a massive blow, with Sheffield United lacking someone of Moore's profile, which has suited Wilder's style.

Carlton Palmer has exclusively revealed to FLW, that Moore's absence could prove to be a vital hit for the Blades ahead of their clash with Wednesday.

"Chris Wilder has not issued encouraging news about Kieffer Moore. He came on in a reshuffle for Sheffield United against Bristol City and took a knock, and had to be replaced after only being on the pitch for eleven minutes.

"The news coming out from Wilder is not good and the next 48 hours will be key. I mean, Moore has been involved in more or less of Sheffield United's games and the Blades have been impressive this season with him, and it will be a massive blow.

"It's not just his goal scoring, but it's his overall play. His link-up play, bringing other players into the game, his defensive abilities, his attacking prowess from set-pieces and corners.

"It will be a massive blow to miss Moore for any length of time. Of course, we're coming up to the big derby on the weekend on Sunday and that may come as a bit too quick for Moore, which will be a disappointment for Sheffield United.

"They'll want to continue their form and could do against Sheffield Wednesday, but Moore is looking unlikely to take any part in this weekend's derby."

As Palmer said, Moore's playstyle isn't just scoring goals, his game is about a lot more than that.

This shows how the 32-year-old impacts the squad, and despite having other striker options, not many can produce off-ball numbers like the Welshman can.

Tyrese Campbell has shown promise upon his return from fitness issues, but in what is set to be a tight game at Bramall Lane on Sunday, Moore's absence could turn out to be a huge loss.

Wilder issued that "he felt his calf" following the game, which could see the striker out for an extended period. Rhian Brewster is another option that was mentioned with the Sheffield United boss saying he could return in time for Sunday's clash.

Someone will have to step up to the plate, and there is no bigger game to prove your worth in Moore's absence.

Whoever it is will have to try and develop their style, with Wilder's use of Moore working wonders so far this season.
