Speaking about his return, Mbappe highlighted the strong bond within the squad. He mentioned that he remains in constant contact with many of his teammates and even spends holidays with some of them.

“It’s great to be back with the group. We talk to most of the colleagues who are here almost all the time.

“I’m going on vacation with some. It’s a pleasure to be here. The situation may not have been clear to people outside, but it has always been internally,” he began saying.

Ballon d’Or chances

When asked about his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or, Mbappe took a lighthearted approach, stating that he would “ask Luka Modric how to win it.”

However, he was firm in his stance regarding Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, making it clear that he has no intention of replacing them, as he believes they are simply irreplaceable.

“I don’t intend to replace them. They are irreplaceable,” he stated.

Fitness update and schedule

Regarding his current fitness level, Mbappe was unable to give an exact percentage but assured that he feels great, is enjoying his football, and is happy to be contributing to the team.

“I don’t know. But I think it’s very high. I feel good, I’m happy to be playing football and being able to help the team.”

Discussing the packed schedule, he admitted that many players are feeling the effects of a demanding season, with back-to-back matches taking a toll.

However, he was clear that despite the fatigue, they would not take their upcoming fixtures lightly, as every game remains important.

“The players arrived very tired, yes. They’re coming off a very busy few weeks, with three-match weeks. That’s certainly the case with Croatia as well.

“There were some very important matches before this training camp. We’re in the final stretch of the season. But we’re not going to trivialize our next two matches,” said the Frenchman.
