McGovern wins SWPL Player of the Month award for December | OneFootball

Kathleen McGovern won the December 2024/25 Scottish Women’s Premier League Player of the Month award, supported by Park’s Motor Group.

McGovern wins the award for the first time in her career having been nominated once previously in August 2023. The forward has netted an impressive 14 goals in just nine starts in the SWPL this season for Hibernian.

The Hibees had a faultless December as they picked up six points from a possible six in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League. McGovern started both matches and scored three goals, including a brace in their 3-0 win over Rangers. Her second goal in this match additionally earned her the December SWPL Goal of the Month award, supported by Park’s Motor Group.

December also included a convincing 4-0 win over Motherwell, keeping Hibernian in the hunt near the top of the table.

The other nominees for the December 2024 SWPL award were Carla Boyce (Partick Thistle), Erin Husband (Heart of Midlothian), and Samantha van Diemen (Glasgow City).
