There is a chance that Sergio Conceicao might not be present for what should be his first game in charge of AC Milan because of a fever, a report has claimed.
According to what is being reported by SportMediaset, Conceicao – who was named as the new Milan boss on December 30 – is still struggling with illness, something that he revealed in his pre-match press conference yesterday.
“I’m not excited at all. I have a cold, I had a fever of 39 last night. That’s why my eyes are watering,” he responded to a journalist when asked about facing Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana. Obviously having such a high temperature makes managing a game a lot more difficult.
Will the Portuguese be in the dugout tonight? The report goes on to state that he still has a fever, but he will do everything to be there. If he can’t make it, one of his two assistants – João Costa and Siramana Dembele – will lead Milan against the Bianconeri.
One can’t help but feel sorry for Conceicao in a way if he is unable to be there for his team’s first game since taking charge, especially after making the long flight not long after arriving and with such a rigorous training programme.
