MILAN FUTURO LOSE AND ARE RELEGATED

Milan Futuro's debut campaign in Serie C ended in the worst possible manner. At the Stadio Paolo Mazza in Ferrara, SPAL won 2-0 in the second leg of the play-out - Awa and Molina with the goals - to overturn the 1-0 loss in the first game and stay in the third division. As a result, the Rossoneri have been relegated. The Biancazzurri started strongly and took an early lead on the night. They set the tone in the first half and saw out the second. The Rossoneri were never really in the game, as they lacked chances and signs of life.

It is a bitter pill to swallow because a draw would have been enough. It is the end of a brutal season, one full of hurdles. It was a tough start at this level, and the January window and a managerial change from Bonera to Oddo weren't enough to stay in it, despite the progress and wins in the latter stages of the campaign. The boys gave it everything, but it wasn't enough.

MATCH REPORT SPAL came flying out of the traps, with Parigini testing Nava on the break (9'). The Rossoneri began to grow in courage and mount some attacks of their own, as Alesi laid it off for Branca, who fired wide (14'). Then, a minute later, Sandri's shot was saved. The hosts got back on the front foot, Molina heading wide (17'). In the 22nd minute, we fell behind. Parigini with the cutback for Awa, whose shot deflected off Molina and into the corner. In the 28th minute, Alesi drew a save from Galeotti. The hosts got their second in the 38th minute: an error played in Molina, who let fly from the edge of the area and sent it sailing into the top corner. Galeotti then made two saves in stoppage time; first to deny Alesi and then Traorè.

The Diavolo were forced to get onto the front foot in the second half. Sia came on and, in the 55th minute, tested Galeotti. The game began to fragment with plenty of stoppages, but time wound on. We attacked but with no great conviction. In the 64th minute, Ianesi failed to convert from Bartseaghi's ball. Mignanelli then broke through on goal but couldn't hit the target (68'). In the 73rd minute, Omoregbe fed Sia, who had the ball in the back of the net, but it was chalked off for a foul in the build-up by Omoregbe before making the pass. Four minutes later, Traorè had a go, and in the 88th minute, Omorebge sent his effort sailing over. In between those two chances, there was a chance for Awa (84') and Nava denied D'Orazio (87'). With the clock winding down, neither Magrassi nor Turco managed to find the net. Full-time.
