Liverpool managed to overpower Southampton in the EFL Cup quarter-final round to advance into the tournament. Their latest win keeps the momentum in their favour and keeps the already highly confident Arne Slot’s men.
The Reds are set to travel abroad to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend. It will be a tough challenge but the table-topper have all the firepower needed to conquer Spurs. A must watch fixture awaits for the fans.
Defence
Though Caoimhin Kelleher has done well so far, Arne Slot might prefer Alisson Becker between the sticks for the big night. Trent Alexander-Arnold remains the undisputed pick for the right-back role in the side.
Virgil van Dijk will return after getting the well deserved rest and he should have the company of Joe Gomez at the heart of the defence. The latter operated as the left-back but that position should be filled by someone else. Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are the contenders for the role.

Midfield
Alexis Mac Allister continues to provide his services in the middle of the park. Ryan Gravenberch is the likely option to accompany the Argentine to form the midfield unit.
Both Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai were on the bench last night but the latter could get the nod to function as the attacking midfielder in the lineup.
Mohamed Salah also marks his return on the right flank and a lot will be expected from him. For the other wing role, Luis Diaz is the prime contender with Diogo Jota operating as the all-out striker.
Ibrahima Konate (knee) and Conor Bradley (hamstring) are the only abseentees for the Reds for this fixture.
