Adi Hütter has made no secret of the fact that AS Monaco are looking for a striker in the January transfer window, since the injury to Folarin Balogun (23).

The USMNT forward suffered a dislocated shoulder in October and then continued to feel pain, despite making a return at the end of November. As a result, the decision was made for Balogun to undergo surgery, which will take place on Tuesday. Hütter has alluded to a four-month absence for Balogun.

It is within this context that Hütter said last week that Monaco would look to recruit a striker on loan in January. L’Équipe have linked the Principality club with a move for Randal Kolo Muani (26), who is out of favour at Paris Saint-Germain and who will be allowed to leave the club in January. He was left out of PSG’s squad as they beat Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday.

In light of those reports, Hütter addressed the Kolo Muani link. “Our eyes are open [to the market]. This is our job to look at the market and look for the best solutions for us. It is not easy in winter. Kolo Muani – it sounds good! We have to be honest, we have to find a good solution,” began the Monaco manager in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News.

“We have some profiles [in mind]… We have to find someone who scores goals! Many strikers in Europe can help us. I have known Kolo Muani since his time at Eintracht Frankfurt. [He is] a profile maybe, but there are lots of other things, and for sure he is not the cheapest one. We have to find a good solution, together,” he added.
