Former Chelsea right back Glen Johnson has been spitting absolute facts on Enzo Maresca and Chelsea’s current form right now as they storm on.

Johnson, who also played for Liverpool and the England national team amongst other sides, has been speaking about Chelsea this week and has hit the nail on the head when it comes to the differences we are seeing this season so far at least.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea make club-to-club contact to sign new Premier League striker!!

Maresca has obviously made a huge difference, getting a tune out of the players which is something that Mauricio Pochettino could not do during another hostile and toxic season at the club under the new owners.

But things are now coming together, and everyone wants to throw Chelsea’s name into the title challengers talk, which to be honest, right now they actually are. That’s just a fact. Enzo Maresca continues to play it down though.

Johnson has it right here

Maresca has it spot on this season

Discussing Chelsea’s phenomenal and surprising run of form, Johnson said in words picked up by The Metro: ‘They just look so much more like a team. They’ve always looked like good players, but they looked like a team of individuals.

‘Enzo looks as if he’s built them into a team, with all the players pulling in the same direction. They all charge around, they’re celebrating when they’re making certain tackles, fighting for each other and when good players do that, you get performances and you get wins.

‘You need standout players like Cole Palmer, but that’s obvious. Everybody’s just raised their game by 15 per cent and they’re a group of very good players.

‘Every one of them is capable and when good players pull together and pull in the right direction, then that’s a gamechanger at this level.’

I think this is exactly it, they are playing together as a team and not as individuals anymore.
