AC Milan want to keep Alex Jimenez for the next few seasons at least, and they are planning talks with Real Madrid regarding his situation.
Jimenez has been a permanent member of the first team squad since the end of 2024 having begun the season with Milan Futuro. Both the head coaches – Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao – have seen the talent that he possesses, as well as the versatility.
As MilanNews report, the issue for Milan is that he is always under the observation of Real Madrid, the team he signed from in 2023 on an initial loan that was then made permanent last summer. Los Blancos boast two buy-back clauses: one in the summer of 2025 and one in the summer of 2026.
However, Milan do not want to lose the player and are even considering a renewal with a pay rise for the 19-year-old defender. Matteo Moretto, a journalist for Relevo, spoke in a video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel.
“The one I believe will stay at Milan in the next few years is Alex Jimenez, a talent born in 2005 , who was one step away from going to Monza on loan,” he began.

“After the Coppa Italia match against Sassuolo, the player sees that he doesn’t have space and continuity of minutes in the first team and asked to be able to go and play more. Monza found a verbal agreement with Milan but, a few days later, Jimenez’s situation changed.
“Fonseca chose to field him as a starter against Genoa and from then on the player’s path changes completely. Today he is a fixed point of the first team, Milan want to renew his contract, adjusting it also from an economic point of view, because they believe that the boy has deserved this step.
“But to do this, Milan must reformulate the agreement with Real Madrid, which has the possibility of bringing Jimenez back in the summer of 2025 for 9 million and in the summer of 2026 for 12 million: it has two buy-backs available.
“The truth is that Real Madrid at the moment has other plans. They are in advanced negotiations with Alexander-Arnold to sign him for free: for the next few years, Real will have the right-back role covered. But they do not want to lose control of Alex Jimenez.
“So what will happen? In the next few days, in the next few weeks, Milan will discuss with Real Madrid the possibility of guaranteeing Jimenez for at least the next two years. Then it will move the buy-backs or in any case raise the amount of the buy-backs. This is the intention of Milan, of Giorgio Furlani.
“For at least the next two years, Milan does not want to lose Jimenez, then eventually in three years Real Madrid could have the possibility of bringing him home. This is the idea on which the parties are working on.
“Also because in recent weeks there have been two important English clubs that have knocked on Real Madrid’s door because they would like to take Jimenez outright, paying more than 20 million.
“Real Madrid knows it, Milan knows it, the player is aware of it but all three parties involved do not intend to break this pact. The intention is to continue at Milan, changing the agreements with Real. The player wants to stay at Milan, he gives Milan priority for his future “.
