Yunus Musah was very happy as he spoke to the media after AC Milan’s win against Juventus. Understandably so, as the American helped seal the win for the Rossoneri with his appearance off the bench.
Musah was thrown into the mix after 53 minutes, replacing Ismael Bennacer, and he immediately looked very good on the ball. In the 75th minute, just minutes after Christian Pulisic’s equaliser, he sent a cross into the box and a wicked deflection brought it into the back of the net.
In our player ratings, he was handed a 7/10 not just for the goal, but also for his defensive efforts after moving to the right-back position. Speaking to MilanTV after the game, as transcribed by MilanPress, Musah shared his thoughts on the game and the final against Inter.
On the win…
“I think that, as you saw in the second half, we are a team that really wants to be in a final, to win a trophy. We have worked a lot, that is the message, and we don’t want to throw away this opportunity. We were also a bit lucky, but this was because we put a lot of grit into it.
On the squad unity…
“We are very united. Obviously, in the last few weeks, things haven’t been fantastic but now we are in the present. We had this opportunity, we took it and made the most of it, now we are very focused on winning the trophy on Monday.”
The final will take place on Monday evening, more specifically at 20:00 CET, and lifting the trophy would certainly be a great way for Sergio Conceicao to start his Milan tenure. He was announced on Monday this week, so it would be exactly one week into the tenure.
