All associated with Real Madrid have this evening been left nothing short of furious.
This comes owing to a sequence of officiating during the first-half of the club’s La Liga meeting with Athletic Club.
Los Blancos are of course currently locked in action at San Mamés.
As things stand in proceedings, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops find themselves still in search of an opening goal, amid a hard-fought affair.
This, though, does not come owing to a lack of trying on the part of the evening’s visitors.
Inside the opening 15 minutes, Real thought that they had taken the lead, after Kylian Mbappé slotted home what looked set to be his 2nd goal in two games.
This kicked into gear a sequence of VAR checks, for both offside, and a potential penalty kick.
The latter in particular looked nailed on for the reigning Spanish champions, after Rodrygo was brought to ground whilst on the run in Athletic’s penalty area.
In the end, however, Real Madrid’s goal was chalked off, with a spot-kick decided against, too.
And as much has since sparked widespread anger, as calls of the ‘Negreira League’, one in which Barcelona are favoured, mount once more:
