The winter transfer window has closed, and for now, Alexander Isak remains with Newcastle United. While there wasn’t much speculation about a move in January, reports suggest several clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, could make another push this summer.

A previous report from RMC Sport claimed Paris Saint-Germain was prepared to offer Gonçalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani, and Marco Asensio in a swap deal to bring Isak to Paris.

Liverpool has also been linked with the Swedish striker. According to Sky Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the club had already opened talks with his representatives.

The Reds were reportedly preparing a major bid for Isak and were willing to break from their usual transfer strategy to sign the 25-year-old forward.

Past reports suggested Newcastle had set Isak’s price at €180 million (£150 million), which would make him Liverpool’s record signing, surpassing the £85 million they paid for Darwin Nunez in 2022.

According to the Daily Mail, club chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan, who also serves as the governor of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, has instructed the club to reject all offers for the striker this summer and ensure he stays at St James’s Park.

The Newcastle striker has been in excellent form, scoring 23 goals for Eddie Howe’s side this season. His performances have attracted interest from top clubs, including Arsenal and Barcelona.

Moreover, the Sweden international has also become Al-Rumayyan’s favorite player, and the club chairman is determined not to let him leave at the end of the season.
