AC Milan have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Joao Felix on loan for the remainder of the season according to Fabrizio Romano.

With the January window closing at 11pm on Monday night there’s still plenty of work that Chelsea need to get done.

The club are looking to finalise a number of exits and it now seems they have made progress in regards to Portugal international Felix.

AC Milan and Chelsea reach agreement for Felix

Felix only signed for Chelsea last summer from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth £45m and signed a seven year deal with the club.

Milan had been pushing to sign Felix this window, and after just over six months he’s now leaving Stamford Bridge to join Italian giants AC Milan with Romano confirming the news.

He took to X.com and said:

“João Félix to AC Milan, here we go! Official bid accepted by Chelsea for straight loan with no buy option.

“Salary covered by AC Milan and package in excess of £5m with loan fee. João now set for AC Milan medical after his green light to the move last night.”

The Blues were looking to bring an attacker in this window and were linked with Mathys Tel, Alejandro Garnacho and Liam Delap.

Instead Chelsea will finish the window with one less attacker than they started it with, and the departure of felix brings to an end a difficult six months at Stamford Bridge.

The 25-year-old has played second fiddle to Cole Palmer and has started just three Premier League games this season, although he’s fared better in the cup competitions, but fans aren’t happy with his departure.

It does mean Chelsea are slightly light in attack if anything were to happen to star man Cole Palmer, with Christopher Nkunku now the only cover in the number ten role.
