A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid racked up more minutes on the pitch than any other across Europe last season.
That’s according to statisticians Score90, who point towards Federico Valverde as the player in question.
The stat accounts for minutes across all competitions in 2023/24, at not only club level, but international, too.
And Valverde, owing to his exploits with Real Madrid and Uruguay, comes out on top, with an eye-watering 5,377 minutes to his name.
Next up is Arsenal and England star Declan Rice, close behind with 5,324 minutes played.
Manchester City standout Rodri – recently condemned to a long-term spell on the sidelines with a knee injury – rounds out the podium, ahead of another Arsenal star, in William Saliba, and Man City teammate Phil Foden, in 5th.
Valverde, for reference, has since opened the new campaign playing an equally prominent role for Real Madrid, sitting out a total of just 20 minutes of Los Blancos’ nine fixtures across all competitions.
