It's safe to say English football changed when Roman Abramovich completed his now-very controversial takeover of Chelsea in the summer of 2003, and it did not take long before the Blues were on top.
On this day in 2005, they won their first title in the Premier League era, and their first in 50 long years.
The West Londoners had largely been a cup team in the five decades since their previous title success, but upgraded to title contender with the influx of big-money signings from 2003 onwards.
However, it was a manager who took them to the next level, José Mourinho, and two players from the pre-takeover days, John Terry and Frank Lampard, who became the figureheads of his all-conquering side.
It was Lampard who would seal the title with two goals away to Bolton Wanderers on a day that will live long in the memory of any Blues fan.
The win of course came with a clean sheet, as Chelsea completed league history with 25 shutouts, as well as a likely-unbeatable 15 goals conceded.
When will Stamford Bridge see the likes again?
