Barcelona star Ansu Fati on Friday confirmed his readiness to seek out a role in the first-choice XI at the club.
Wide-man Ansu is for his part of course currently in the midst of a fresh spell on the sidelines.
After spending the early weeks of the campaign out of action with a foot injury, a hamstring issue suffered during training earlier this month condemned the 22-year-old to another stretch on the treatment table.
Such woes have made it next to impossible for Ansu to get a consistent run of games under his belt.
With the rest of Barcelona’s attackers firing on all cylinders, the Spaniard is therefore considered as being some way down the pecking order of boss Hansi Flick.
As alluded to above, though, Ansu has not yet given up hope of carving out a place for himself in the starting line-up in Catalunya’s capital.
In fact, far from it.
Speaking to the media whilst in attendance at Barca’s 125th anniversary celebration this evening, the young winger was asked:
“Do you think you’re ready to take on a starting role at Barcelona?”
And Ansu did not hesitate in responding:
“Yes”
