FC Barcelona manage to emerge victorious in their most recent clash in the Copa del Rey. Taking on Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano is no small task, but La Blaugrana managed to do that and more. Ultimately, Barcelona come away with a 1-0 win and advance to the Copa del Rey final.

A goal from Ferran Torres in the first half would prove to be enough to win this game. However, there were several Barcelona players who simply out-played Atletico Madrid at their own home ground, especially during that sensational first-half from Hansi Flick’s team.

Here are the player ratings for the Barcelona players.

Player Ratings:

Wojciech Szczesny: 7.0

Did not have much to do in the first half, but did manage to play out some decent passes from the back. Had to be much more alert during the second-half, but he managed to hold his own well.

Jules Kounde: 7.5

A strong first-half display, one in which he was constantly helping out the team in attack while also tracking back to help defensively. Struggled a bit during the second-half but it would not hurt Barcelona too much.

Pau Cubarsi: 7.5

A composed first 45 minutes, the young Spaniard was always in control and played out well from the back. Seemed to be a bit more overwhelmed during the second-half, but held his own well until he got substituted.

Inigo Martinez: 8.0

An immense presence in the Barcelona backline, his ability to constantly win aerial duels gave the team a lot more breathing room whenever Atletico Madrid tried to start an attack with a cross.

Alejandro Balde: 7.0

Initially a bit restricted, Alejandro Balde gradually grew into the game with his dribbling and a more dynamic display. Unfortunately, however, he did end up costing Barcelona in transition sometimes whenever they had positive possession.

Frenkie de Jong: 8.5

Clever and energetic through the midfield, the Dutchman was a force to be reckoned with today. His play through the middle was creative, and he did well to always come back and help out both defensively and in the build up as well.

Pedri: 9.0

Simply unplayable for Atletico Madrid, Pedri was always ahead of them. His passes were sublime, and his ability to pause and analyze the best possible option in the middle of the game is just world-class. Once again among the best players on the pitch, he was simply excellent both in attack and defense.

Lamine Yamal: 8.5

A real threat on that right wing for Atletico Madrid, Lamine Yamal constantly kept creating headaches for them. As if his excellent dribbling was not enough, he also ended up providing a beautiful assist to Ferran Torres. His second-half was quieter in comparison, but a decent performance.

Fermin Lopez: 7.0

Energetic and dynamic, the young midfielder provided the right kind of intensity. Especially during the first-half, his presence allowed Barcelona to play really fluid football that Atletico Madrid could get nowhere near.

Raphinha: 6.0

A rather sluggish and less-than-ideal performance from Raphinha. He squandered the few decent opportunities that came his way, but he seemed to be quite out of the game during his time on the pitch. However, this is his first game back after the international break. Improved in terms of his work-rate and link-up play during the second-half.

Ferran Torres: 8.0

Slightly quiet initially, but he made his moment count. The Spaniard made a great run behind the Atletico Madrid back-line that was spotted by Lamine Yamal, and the forward made sure to score that chance that was created for him. His hold-up play, however, could have been much better.

Eric Garcia: 7.5

Brilliant performance from the Spaniard after coming up. Even though he misplaced certain passes, he drew fouls and contested for every single ball like a man possessed.

Ronald Araujo: 7.5

The Uruguayan came on for Pau Cubarsi and did his job well. He contested well against the Atletico Madrid players, and was a wall that they simply could not bypass. The defender was also a massive asset during set pieces to defend against Atletico Madrid.

Robert Lewandowski: 6.5

Was strong in his hold-up play, and managed to draw out fouls as well. Decent cameo.
