Juventus keeper Mattia Perin admits the Bianconeri are ‘not doing enough’ so they must be ‘even more united’ to ‘give more emotionally.’
The Bianconeri lost the second consecutive match last night, losing 2-0 to Benfica in the final league phase game of the Champions League.
The performance was as disappointing as the result as the players were booed after the final whistle.
“We are in difficulty. But in life, you can’t go back; we need to come together as a group because the only way to get out of these moments is to do it as a team,” Perin told Sky Sport Italia.

“Maybe we need to be even more united, as what we are doing isn’t enough. Technical analysis aside, we all need to give more emotionally.”
Perin is one of the most experienced players in the dressing room, so how can he set an example for the younger teammates?
“We have to do it with attitude, example, and commitment,” he replied.
“And we do this every day; there is no difference between young and old players. We are a team that works hard, but if you play for Juventus, that’s not enough. We try to convey this: if 100% isn’t enough, you must give 110%.”
Juventus could meet Milan or Feyenoord in the Champions League knockout playoff, but Perin didn’t seem interested in who the next opponent could be.
“We have to play, and we’ll face whoever comes our way to the best of our ability,” said the Italian keeper.
“When we find out who we’ll face, we’ll prepare as best as possible. We need to get past the playoffs and reach the round of 16.”
Juventus earned 12 points in eight Champions League matches, finishing 20th. Their coach, Thiago Motta, took full responsibility for last night’s loss to Benfica and insisted that the team “must improve quickly” starting from the next Serie A match against Empoli on Sunday.
