Price tag increase for Arsenal target Carnesecchi, claims ‘best Italian player in Serie A’ | OneFootball

The reported price tag for Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi, who has been linked with a move to Premier League giants Arsenal, continues to increase, as one outlet in Italy suggests that he is currently the best-performing Italian player in Serie A.

Reports Atalanta value Carnesecchi at 60m following Arsenal interest

According to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Carnesecchi is currently valued in the region of €60m by those in Bergamo, which has increased from the €50m fee that Il Corriere dello Sport reported just over a month ago.

Arsenal have reportedly been following the 24-year-old for several months already, but are unlikely to table an offer in the January transfer window.

A product of Cesena’s youth academy, and later Atalanta, Carnesecchi has established himself as the firm no. 1 choice for La Dea over the last 18 months.

His performances have been so solid that La Gazzetta dello Sport ran an article on Friday suggesting that he might be the best performing Italy player in Serie A at present.

The Pink Paper praised the 24-year-old’s ‘old school’ style of goalkeeping, claiming that he makes little fuss over his saves and that he still prefers to throw the ball or go long instead of attempting to play his way out of danger with his feet.

La Gazzetta also praised Carnesecchi for his communication with his defensive unit and his positioning in dangerous situations.
