PSG end Ligue 1 season with comeback victory against Auxerre | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain came from behind to beat Auxerre 3-1 in their final game of the Ligue 1 season on Saturday night.

The brief dip in performance could be explained by the fact full focus for Luis Enrique's side is on this month's Champions League final, having wrapped up the league title at the beginning of April.

That said, the team the manager put out was practically full strength and Ousmane Dembélé should have opened the scoring inside the opening 15 minutes, but his effort was comfortably held by the Auxerre goalkeeper.

30 minutes in, it was the visitors who ultimately took the lead as Lassine Sinayoko poked the ball home after he was played in by teammate Gaëtan Perrin.

Moments later, PSG should have found an equaliser but Nuno Mendes' free-kick from 25 yards out rattled the post and Auxerre were able to scramble away the resulting loose ball.

It took until the 60th minute, but the hosts eventually found their groove and put themselves back on level terms courtesy of a superb finish from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Marquinhos then headed PSG in front several minutes later following an expertly taken corner from Mendes.

The PSG left-back was involved in the action once again when he won a penalty with a little over 10 minutes left to play, but Gonçalo Ramos failed to convert the resulting spot-kick.

Kvaratskhelia made amends late on with his second of the night, ensuring the French champions ended their league campaign with a victory.

Looking ahead, Enrique's side will take on Reims in the French Cup final next weekend before the Champions League final against Inter Milan on May 31.
