Queens Park Rangers forward Rayan Kolli was a bright spark in an otherwise underwhelming campaign at Loftus Road.

Emerging from QPR's academy, the 20-year-old Algerian burst into life in the 2024/25 campaign after making his debut the season prior.

Kolli caught the eye with four goals and two assists from 20 Championship appearances, and it's little wonder he appears to be earning interest elsewhere.

With speculation already swirling regarding his future, QPR supporters still have high hopes.

Asked whether it is imperative that QPR look to keep Kolli, or should he be sold for the right price, FLW's Queens Park Rangers fan pundit Louis Moir believes that now is not the time to sell the forward, believing that the Hoops could be sitting on a gem.

A report from Foot Mercato in April suggested that French clubs AS Monaco and LOSC Lille are interested in the London-born Algerian, alongside Saudi Arabian sides Al-Hilal and Damac FC.

"Rayan Kolli, obviously, there has been talk about him, with clubs interested in him, a few clubs from abroad," Louis told FLW.

"Obviously, he signed a new deal with us," said Louis. "He could have top ability, but he is still very raw. He played first-team football for the first time last season, and now this time around, he has come straight into Championship football and has chipped in with a few goals and a few assists."

Seeing the value in what Kolli has already shown, Louis stressed that he remains a work in progress: "Overall, you look at him as someone who has done well to be chucked in at the deep end like that. He has so much more to learn.

"I also don't think that the club knows what his best position is either. He has played up front, he has also come on and played out on the wing."

QPR could unlock a star if they are patient with Kolli

While Kolli's position remains fluid, Louis thinks that there is a defined role in the making for the youngster, as he added: "I still think there is a role there for him, with his technical ability, to be somewhat of a dynamic forward, maybe playing behind a striker in a drifting role."

"I really think he has some of the best ability we've seen from a youngster at QPR in years. He is so young, but he has got a lot to learn. I just hope that he develops.

Loftus Road is the best place for Kolli amid transfer speculation

"If an offer comes in and it's very attractive, you can't say no to it. Any player is up for sale at the right price," Louis admitted.

"But then on the other hand, you look at it thinking we've had Kolli at the club since he was a young boy, with this great story coming through the youth academy. You want him to really, really kick on now."

Concluding, Louis outlined: "I just think that QPR is the best place for him to kick on right now, and it would be class to see him do that here. I still think we've got a big player on our hands, and we haven't seen his full ability yet, but that will come."

"The right price might come in, and we might have to consider it. But for now, I think we have to keep him, develop him, and in a few years, he might be worth a good bit of money."
