Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has shared some positive updates about his recovery from the severe knee injury he sustained on October 5 last year.
The injury, which involved tears to his cruciate ligament, external collateral ligament, and popliteus tendon in his right knee, has kept him sidelined for a significant amount of time.
Despite the challenge, Carvajal has maintained an upbeat and determined attitude toward his recovery, describing the process as feeling “like an animal.”
Carvajal explained that he is fully committed to pushing himself in his rehabilitation, expressing that every day he strives to improve. He is focused on regaining strength in his knee, aiming to return to the pitch as quickly as possible.
“I feel like an animal. I’m doing very well, my knee is respecting me and I’m enjoying the process. Things have to be taken with joy, enthusiasm and a lot of effort.
“Every day I try to lift the dumbbell with more energy than the day before, start running as hard as possible… Trying to get back as soon as possible,” he said as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Recently, Carvajal was awarded for his impressive achievements in 2024, where he won six titles in total — five with Real Madrid and one with the Spanish national team.
At the Madrid Sports Press Association (APDM) gala, Carvajal acknowledged that while 2024 was a successful year for him, his success comes from his consistent efforts.
He highlighted his approach to life, striving each day to be better in every aspect, whether as a footballer, husband, father, or brother.
“2024 was a very successful year, but I didn’t do anything different. I always try to give everything and go to bed a better person, a better husband, a better father, a better brother,” he said.
Carvajal recently updated on his recovery through an Instagram post, where he was seen performing rehabilitation exercises, though not involving the ball just yet.
The photo also revealed the scar from the injury, which he has been working hard to heal.
Although he is still a long way from a full recovery, Carvajal’s dedication to getting back on the field shows his strong mindset and resilience.
