Heading into this game, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is set to hold a crucial meeting with his Barcelona counterpart, Joan Laporta, reports Rodra P.

Perez’s meeting with Laporta

The report suggests Perez will meet Laporta tonight in Jeddah, in a customary meetup before the big Super Cup clash.

The meeting between these two comes in the backdrop of ongoing tension between Barcelona and other La Liga clubs after CSD issed a precautionary measure to Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

The measure allowed Barcelona to register these two individuals, effectively making them available for the Super Cup final against Real Madrid.

Despite that, Real Madrid have remained silent on the matter, which has been seen by many as a sign of backing for Barcelona.

Laporta, for his part, has been on the crosshair of RFEF following the way he celebrated CSD’s decision to issue a precautionary measure to Olmo and Victor. In fact, the federation is considering taking action against Laporta for his behaviour.

Real Madrid, though, are not expected to issue any statement on the matter, something which has irked their own set of fans.

Tonight’s meeting, therefore, will be crucial, especially considering how two of the fierciest rivals in Spanish football have showcased bonhomie at a delicate time.
