La Liga giants Real Madrid recently rejected the opportunity to bring in Kyle Walker from Manchester City.
That’s according to Marca, who have on Friday provided an insight into the ongoing developments in the boardroom in Spain’s capital.
It is of course now common knowledge that defender Walker is all set for a move to Italy, with Paulo Fonseca’s AC Milan.
The Englishman is expected to pen loan terms through the close of the campaign at some point over the coming 48 hours.
As alluded to above, though, had the brass at Real Madrid acted differently, Walker could well have found himself part of Carlo Ancelotti’s Blancos ranks until the summer.
In the knowledge that the reigning La Liga champions are badly lacking in options on the right side of defence at present, Walker’s entourage, it is claimed, made contact with the transfer team at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The response on the part of Florentino Pérez and co, however, proved unwavering – that Trent Alexander-Arnold is the only right-back whom Real would consider bringing in this month.
