Real Madrid starlet lauds Ancelotti’s influence on young players – ‘A great person’ | OneFootball

Real Madrid’s rising star Raul Asencio has opened up about his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti, the atmosphere in the dressing room, and his thoughts on some of football’s biggest names.

Speaking about his bond with the Real Madrid manager, Asencio had nothing but praise for Ancelotti’s leadership.

“[My relationship with him is] very good. He is very close to us and that’s very important in this type of dressing room.

“Since I arrived he has helped me a lot. He helps us young players a lot. He’s a great person and as a coach, there’s no need to say anything,” he told AS.

The young forward also highlighted how Ancelotti’s vast experience has been crucial in helping him adapt to the challenges of playing for Madrid.

“He has the experience of having coached many players and knows perfectly what each player needs. I’m going through a period of transition, of change… and he has helped me a lot.”

On Mbappe’s impact in the dressing room

With Kylian Mbappe now a part of the squad, Asencio was asked about the French superstar’s personality behind the scenes.

“Kylian is just like any other player. He’s very humble, hard-working, calm. He’s a great person.

“They are all very close people. He has a lot of humour and a very positive character in all situations. As I said, it’s a healthy dressing room, a great group.”

When asked whether he considers himself the best player in the world, Asencio remained humble and chose not to make bold claims.

“I couldn’t tell you. In Madrid, we are lucky to have the best players. I don’t want to get involved,” he admitted.

On signing a player from Atletico or Barcelona

Asencio also dismissed the idea of bringing in a star from Atletico Madrid or Barcelona, showing confidence in the current Real Madrid squad.

“We are fine with what we have.”

His words reflect the strong mentality within the Madrid dressing room, where competition for places is intense, but the squad remains united and focused on achieving success.
