Real Madrid go into Sunday’s La Liga clash against Celta Vigo with a number of notable absentees.
The defensive department is the worst hit as Ferland Mendy, Antonio Rudiger, and David Alaba have all been sidelined, joining long-term absentees Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao.
In midfield, Eduardo Camavinga misses out, while there is a major absence in attack as well, with Rodrygo missing out.
The Brazilian international was left out of the squad list for tomorrow’s contest at the Santiago Bernabeu as he is dealing with a mild fever.
With Rodrygo not available for tomorrow’s match, journalist Rodra P (h/t RM4Arab) reports that Brahim Diaz is the best placed to replace him in the Real Madrid starting lineup against Celta Vigo.
The 25-year-old Moroccan international has been the go-to man for Carlo Ancelotti whenever there has been an absence in the attacking unit, proving himself as a reliable utility man.

In 48 appearances this season, Brahim has managed six goals and seven assists, and has earned the manager’s trust ahead of players like Arda Guler and Endrick.
As such, the versatile attacker, who has been linked with a summer exit, is likely to replace Rodrygo on the right flank, partnering with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. in the Real Madrid frontline.
However, the former Manchester City starlet has come under some criticism of late due to his recent performances, in particular the mistake that led to Jules Kounde’s winner in the Copa del Rey final vs Barcelona.
As such, he will be eager to put on a solid showing against Celta on Sunday and put himself in contention for a bigger role for the Clasico against FC Barcelona next week in hope of redeeming himself.
