Real Sociedad join hunt to sign Barcelona star in January | OneFootball

A fresh suitor have positioned themselves in the hunt for a member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona.

That’s according to Catalunya Radio, who have confirmed interest in the signature of Eric García on the part of the transfer team at Real Sociedad.

The name of defender Eric has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of recent days.

This comes amid claims that Girona are pushing to bring the former Manchester City man – who shone during a loan stint at the Estadi Montilivi last season – back to the club on a permanent basis.

The Blanquivermells are willing to fork over a sum in the region of €10 million to strike a deal.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, then Girona are not the only ones keen on a deal for Eric…

As per a report from Catalunya Radio, fellow La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have positioned themselves in the fray for his signature, too.

La Real are on the lookout for reinforcements at the back with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign, with the out-of-favour Barcelona man amongst the options being considered.

Something of a battle, in turn, could well be on the cards for Eric over the weeks ahead.
