Real Sociedad star in doubt for Manchester United clash | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have seen the status of another leading member of the club’s squad for their upcoming meeting with Manchester United thrown up in the air.

This comes owing to developments in La Real’s latest outing.

Imanol’s troops marked their return to action on Sunday, welcoming Sevilla to San Sebastian for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done on a disappointing evening’s work for Sociedad, they were condemned to the wrong side of a 1-0 result.

And the woes of the Basque outfit were not condemned solely to the scoreline.

In addition, during the 2nd-half, Jon Aramburu was forced into a premature departure from proceedings, with an injury setback.

Owing to a heavy blow to his foot, the 22-year-old was hauled off just beyond the hour mark.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle, Imanol had the following to say when drawn on Aramburu’s wellbeing:

“Aramburu had been suffering from discomfort in his foot and it just so happened that he received a strong stomp there.”

Though he has not yet been definitively ruled out, the defender is in turn considered a major doubt to play his part against Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday.
